Emergency Kit - Software Developer

You are expected to contribute to the software development of Emergency Kit.

About This Role

Emergency Kit is an Android app—a fork of Trail Sense, an open-source Android app—that provides tools people may need during natural disasters (whistle, flashlight, SOS features, emergency call button, recent earthquakes, early earthquake warning system, first aid guide, cell towers, a map of offline meeting points, etc.) through a simple interface, all in one place. Since Trail Sense—on whose source code we are based—is mostly written in Kotlin, we are also using Kotlin in the Emergency Kit.

We are looking for volunteers to help with Kotlin development. You can contribute to the project using AI. Therefore, what matters most is that you are eager to understand the overall logic of the code and become familiar with Kotlin. You are expected to learn as you develop.

This project is based on the principle of open volunteering; we do not assign you any responsibilities across the entire project. You can simply choose a task that suits you from the task list and contribute according to your own capabilities and availability. Every contribution is highly valued. You can review the list of tasks on GitHub: https://github.com/servi-team/servi-team/issues/1
